Some are used for agriculture. Some are used for construction projects. Some function as organized trash, containing remnants of structures fallen down. Some are overgrown and resemble small hills. While the piles found along the French countryside exhibit an uncertainty or inexactness of purpose, they exhibit a strong visual specificity that characterizes the landscape.
